I want to be the Christmas bitch
... the kind of bitch who will
create the “WOW” effect when arriving (late) for dinner with this bottle of
wine:
Clos du Chateau de Bligny Cuvée 6 cépages |
"oh really, am i late? (no apologies - obviously)
Listen to this first: there are 6 grapes in
that bottle of Champagne. Did you know that it was possible?"
(Condescending
look -> BITCH)
“well, you should know
that there are actually 7 grapes authorized in the Champagne AOC, and not only the
3 famous we all know (Chardonnay Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier)
The forgotten grapes
are: Arbane, Petit Meslier, Pinot blanc and Pinot gris....!"
Pause (...)
Look carefully at people's reaction.
(Important, so people
can drink your words and look at you in a very impressed way -> BITCH again)
"However, you should
know that those 4 grapes represent not even 0.5% of the vineyards in Champagne,
hence this is why they are rarely mentioned.
Besides, Chardonnay
Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier will always be the stars, the ones everybody want
to focus on."
So... is it just
marketing to release a special “6 grapes” Cuvée, or does it make a real
difference in taste?
Well, when it comes
to Chateau de Bligny, I have to say that this wine is divine.
Is it due to
the presence of Arbane or Petit Meslier? Hard to tell.
Each of the 6 grapes
represent 1/6 of the wine. So they probably all contribute to the beautiful
result.
This Recoltant Manipulant,
who does not ring a bell to a lot of Champagne afficionados, should be more
carefully considered.
This “Clos du Chateau
6 cépages” is a nectar from Gods. Supple yet wide in the mouth. Very Fresh with
the tiniest bubbles you could expect from a Non-vintage Champagne. Its texture
makes it an ideal companion with food: why not matching it with creamy scallop
or even stuffed turkey?
The palate is so generous
that I can bet you it could also be a perfect match with any smelly cheese you can
find.
Well, I know that
Christmas is about sharing. But let me be a Bitch a little more... and have the
bottle for myself.
Pleaaaaaaase Santa!!
Merry Christmas to all ! |
